[Herald Politics= Reporter Eunjae Sung] On May 15, 2022, about 30,000 people gathered to protest against the comprehensive anti-discrimination law in front of the National Assembly Building located in Yeouido, Seoul. Christian Council of Metropolitan Area held the Mizpah National Salvation Prayer Service to claim opposition to the comprehensive anti-discrimination law that incites reverse discrimination and homosexuality.

This law states that it pursues an equal society that encourages no discrimination and prevents discrimination against certain minorities in every field. However, 30,000 people who gathered in the National Assembly Building criticized this law heavily for even infringing freedom of speech and citizens’ safety and human right.

Professor Yong-Hee Lee, the representative of the Headquarters of Esther Prayer Movement, asserted that it is significant to tell the truth about the comprehensive anti-discrimination law. Professor Lee cited the result of the public opinion poll that was reinvestigated by Opinion Korea. According to the result of the survey, about 60% of people who answered to be aware of the law stood in opposition to the legislature.

Lawyer Young-Gil Cho, the representative lawyer of the law firm I&S, asserted strong apposition. For the contention, Lawyer Cho claimed that “It is an autocratic law of homosexuality and sex change that does not prohibit discrimination but permit civil suits and liability just with the reason of emotional distress when someone expressed opposing opinion to homosexuality.”

Christian Council of Metropolitan Area asserted instant suspension of an attempt at the enactment of the comprehensive anti-discrimination law and stated that “19 anti-discrimination laws that are specific and individual already exist in the Constitutional law.” It is expected for every citizen to know thoroughly and progress in the right direction.

약 3만 여명 모여 "포괄적 차금법 반대" 외쳤다

[헤럴드정치=성은재 기자] 5월 15일, 여의도에 위치한 국회의사당 앞에서 약 3만 명이 포괄적 차별금지법 반대를 위해 모였다. 수도권기독교총연합회가 동성애와 역차별을 옹호하는 포괄적 차별금지법 반대를 외치며 미스바구국기도회를 개최했다.

이 법은 모두에게 차별이 없는 평등한 사회를 추구하며 모든 영역에서 특정 소수자 집단에 대한 차별을 막고자 한다고 되어있다. 하지만 국회 앞에 모인 3만여 명은 이 포괄적 차별금지법이 오히려 표현의 자유와 국민의 안전과 인권을 유린하는 악법이라고 강하게 비판했다.

에스더기도운동본부 대표 이용희 교수는 오피니언코리아에 다시 실행된 여론조사 결과를 인용하며 포괄적 차별금지법의 진실을 알려야 한다고 외쳤다. 조사 결과에 따르면 포괄적 차별금지법의 내용을 안다고 답한 이들 증엔 약 60%가 제정을 반대한다고 답했다고 한다.

법무법인 I&S 대표 변호사 조영길 변호사는 “차별을 금지하는 것이 아닌 동성애를 반대한다는 이유만으로 정신적 고통을 주장하며 민사소송 등 각종 법적 책임을 묻게 하는 동성애와 성전환 독재법”이라며 포괄적 차별금지법을 강력히 반대했다.

수기총은 “헌법에는 이미 19개의 개별적 차별금지법이 존재한다”며 포괄적 차별금지법의 제정 시도의 즉각 중단을 외쳤다. 모든 국민이 제대로 알고 옳은 방향으로 나아갈 수 있게 힘써야 할 것으로 보인다.
